2019 BC Wildlife Highlights tour
This exciting new whirlwind tour, run for our friends at Wildlife Worldwide, aimed to take in some of the many wildlife highlights that coastal British Columbia has to offer. Starting in Vancouver, we took our guests across Vancouver Island to explore the beautiful sandy beaches and coastal rainforests of the Pacific Rim National Park where we saw iconic species such as Coastal Wolf, Black Bears and Humpback Whales. We then headed northwards, up the Island, to the explore remote reaches of Zeballos Inlet and the Broughton Archipelago. This is where our wildlife viewing really took off. An extraordinarily productive boat trip out from Zeballos provided us with friendly humpbacks whales, a feast of Sea Otters and almost uncountable numbers of Black Bears, while a day-boat trip out from Port McNeill gave us some excellent opportunities to see Killer Whales, Pacific White-sided Dolphins, Steller’s Sea Lion’s, Dall’s Porpoises, more Humpbacks and even a Grizzly Bear! We eventually put all our guests on a vintage sea plane for an exciting flight up to Bella Coola where they enjoyed a 3 night stay in a remote Grizzly bear watching lodge before meeting us again for their final nights in Vancouver. It was certainly an action packed introduction to this amazing coast!
